Who We Are

An enduring institution in maritime investment.

Atlantic Capital Group is a privately held global asset manager investing exclusively in shipping, logistics and their ancillary industries.

Overview

Our firm

Since our founding in 1987, Atlantic Capital Group has raised more than $52 billion of capital from pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments and family offices.

We are headquartered in Panama City, Panama, with offices in New York, Miami, Bogotá, Mexico City, Madrid, Casablanca and Dubai. Our team of more than 340 investment and operating professionals oversees sixteen operating companies employing over 33,000 people.

Unlike generalist private equity firms, we focus solely on the industries that move goods across the world: ocean shipping, air cargo and express, ports and terminals, overland freight, ship finance, and marine insurance. That focus allows us to build integrated platforms where each company strengthens the others — a vessel financed by Canal Ship Finance, insured by Atlas Marine & Cargo, calling at Istmo Terminals, its cargo forwarded by United Overnight Express.

We describe ourselves as the umbrella under which these companies thrive: independent in brand and management, united in capital, governance and strategy.

Our Values

01

Patience

Shipping is cyclical. We hold assets through cycles, often for fifteen years or more.

02

Operational Depth

Our professionals include former master mariners, airline executives, underwriters and port engineers.

03

Integrity

We hold ourselves to the highest fiduciary, safety and compliance standards in every jurisdiction.

04
